This specimen was lot 6407 in Ponterio sale 155 (Baltimore, November 2010), where it did not sell. The catalog description^[1] noted, "MEXICO. Mexico City. 8 Reales, 1868-CH/PH. BRILLIANT UNCIRCULATED." The Mexico City mint struck this type 1824-63, 1867-69, 1873-97 and most dates are common to very common. This specimen, with overassayer CH/PH (both assayers CH and PH are recorded for 1868) was listed in the auction with a hefty estimate, far higher than the modest catalog value in the SCWC.

Specification: 27.07 g, 0.903 fine silver, .786 troy oz ASW.
