This specimen is from a series struck 1868-70 at the Chihuahua mint and 1863 at San Luis Potosí. This five centavos piece was superseded by the "standing eagle" type struck 1869-97. It, in turn, was replaced by a "slim eagle" five centavos piece (KM 400) in 1898.

Specification: 1.35 g, 0.903 fine silver, 14 mm diameter, .039 troy oz ASW.
