This specimen was lot 7858 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2022), where it sold for $168. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. Oaxaca. 5 Centavos, 1915. PCGS MS-64 Brown. A decently struck near-Gem, with mint red surviving in the protected areas." This provisional piece was issued in many varieties. The state of Oaxaca, which was not the scene of any fighting, issued the most extensive series of revolutionary coinage, most with the bust of native son Benito Juarez.
