This specimen was lot 70583 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, May 2023), where it sold for $384. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. Oaxaca. 3 Centavos, 1915. PCGS MS-64 Red Brown. Presenting with a good deal of mint Red remaining, this near-Gem example is charming and altogether a lovely piece." The state of Oaxaca, which was not the scene of any fighting, issued the most extensive series of revolutionary coinage, most with the bust of native son Benito Juarez. This denomination was struck in several varieties in 1915. KM 711 and KM 712 are rectangular and KM 713 and KM 714 are round. The two round varieties are very similar but this one has a small 3 and a weak truncation of the bust.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 2.25 g, copper, 20 mm diameter.

Catalog reference: KM-714.
