This specimen was lot 11451 in Ponterio sale 169 (Baltimore, November 2012), where it sold for $1,116. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. Oaxaca. 1 Centavo, 1915. PCGS MS-62 BN Secure Holder. Attractive brown luster. Well struck and preserved." This crude provisional piece has been extensively counterfeited. The state of Oaxaca, which was not the scene of any fighting, issued the most extensive series of revolutionary coinage, most with the bust of native son Benito Juarez.
Recorded mintage: unknown but scarce.
