Madero Brigade 1915 10 centavos
This specimen was lot 73455 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, September 2023), where it sold for $144. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. Puebla. Chiconcuautla. 10 Centavos, 1915. PCGS MS-62 Brown. A very attractive revolutionary piece with soft satin surfaces and patina a mix between hazel and steel brown. Instances of mint red still glisten from around the legends and the outside of the eagle's left wing, adding to [the] appeal. An excellent option for many specialists and the first example of the type we can recall presenting in nearly a decade." This type, accompanied by copper twenty centavos, is common but normally comes wretched.
