This specimen was lot 7857 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2022), where it sold for $384. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. Jalisco. Centavo, 1915. NGC MS-64 Brown. Seldom seen in such quality, this example is lustrous with a blue sheen that dances when tilted towards the light. With a detailed strike, it is no surprise to be tied for the top spot at NGC with just one other example." This type, accompanied by copper two, five and ten centavos, is common but normally comes wretched. A few examples struck in brass exist.
