This specimen was lot 7859 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2022), where it sold for $216. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. Oaxaca. Centavo, 1915. PCGS MS-65 Brown. Pop: 3, none graded finer by PCGS. A Centavo with rough raised devices, as is usual for this crudely struck issue. The fields have an original sheen and are free of marks. Overall a pleasing Gem, a SCARCE and desirable state of preservation for the type." This provisional piece was issued in many varieties. The state of Oaxaca, which was not the scene of any fighting, issued the most extensive series of revolutionary coinage, most with the bust of native son Benito Juarez.
