The first specimen was lot 11423 in Ponterio sale 169 (Baltimore, November 2012), where it sold for $470. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. Revolution Aguas Calientes. 1 Centavo, 1915. Small date. With Mr. Wood's hand-lettered cardboard holder. EXTREMELY FINE. Ex: Howland Wood Collection." The second specimen was lot 73137 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, October 2025), where it sold for $7,800. The catalog description[2] noted, "MEXICO. Aguascalientes. Silver Centavo, 1915. NGC MS-61. Large date with reeded edge. An EXCEEDINGLY RARE type in silver, this lovely delivers bold details, a soft glowing allure, and dusky tone throughout. We cannot find another example of the type trading in silver in recent years, so we would expect much competition for this example." This coin was issued by the Villistas and was accompanied by two, five and twenty centavos. Numerous varieties exist; the SCWC mentions large and small date and reeded and plain edge.

Recorded mintage: unknown but not rare.

Specification: 3.55 g, copper, 17 mm diameter. The second specimen is silver.

Catalog reference: KM-601; GB-1. The second specimen is KM-601; GB-6.
