This specimen was lot 2427 in Goldberg sale 93 (Los Angeles, September 2016), where it sold for $481.75. The catalog description[1] noted, "Mexico: Zacatecas. Real, 1812 NGC G6. War of Independence. Ferdinand VII. Armored bust. The only example graded by NGC. Nicer than KM photo. NGC graded Good-6." This two year type (1811-12) is rather scarcer than the catalog indicates. This specimen realized nearly six times the catalog value and is nicer than the plate photo in the SCWC.
