Ponterio sale 155, lot 6212

This specimen was lot 6212 in Ponterio sale 155 (Baltimore, November 2010), where it sold for $172.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. Chihuahua. 1876-MM. Light toning, slightly weak strike on eagle's breast. BRILLIANT UNCIRCULATED." The Chihuahua mint struck eight reales 1831-95. Many of the early dates are rare but this one is common.

Specification: 27.07 g, 0.903 fine silver, .786 troy oz ASW.
