This specimen was lot 11337 in Ponterio sale 169 (Baltimore, November 2012), where it sold for $1,058. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. Guanajuato. Centavo, 1876-Go. NGC VF Details--Environmental Damage. RARE date. A few tiny points of corrosion. Dark toned." The copper centavos of Guanajuato are generally scarce and when found, in low grade. Other dates include 1874, 1875, 1877, 1878 and 1880.

Recorded mintage: unknown but rare.

Specification: 8 g, copper, 25 mm diameter, reeded edge.
