This specimen was lot 71065 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, October 2025), where it sold for $1,320. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. 5 Centavos, 1876-As L. Alamos Mint. NGC AU Details--Cleaned. Second finest of three graded by NGC. From the Kirk Menczer Collection of Republican Decimal Minors." The Alamos mint struck silver five centavos of the upright eagle style 1874-80 and 1886-95. Prior to that, there was a brief issue of "cap and ray" five centavos from Potosi and Mexico City in 1867-69. This date is not rare but no Alamos five centavos is common.

Recorded mintage: unknown but somewhat scarce.

Specification: 1.35 g, 0.903 fine silver, 14 mm diameter, reeded edge.

Catalog reference: KM-398.
