This specimen was lot 71252 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Santa Ana, CA, February 2020), where it sold for $288. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. 8 Reales, 1876-Ga IC. Guadalajara Mint. PCGS MS-63. Light silvery toning with an overall first class appearance. Conservatively graded and most desisrable." The Guadalajara mint produced large quantities of eight reales 1825-95 and most later dates are readily available, including this one. Assayer MC is scarce.

Recorded mintage: 559,000 including assayer MC.

Specification: 27.07 g, 0.903 fine silver, .786 troy oz ASW.
