Mexico 1875-As DL 5 centavos

The Alamos mint struck silver five centavos of the upright eagle style 1874-80 and 1886-95. Prior to that, there was a brief issue of "cap and ray" five centavos from Potosi and Mexico City in 1867-69. This date is not rare but no Alamos five centavos is common. So far as we know, the A^S DL five centavos of 1874-75 are the only time two assayer initials were used on this denomination. Other mints include Hermosillo, Culiacan, Durango, Mexico City, Chihuahua, Guanajuato, Guadalajara, Oaxaca, Zacatecas and Potosi. It, in turn, was replaced by a five centavos piece with a redesigned reverse in 1898, by which time the Alamos mint was closed.
