This specimen was lot 71089 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, October 2025), where it sold for $384. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. 5 Centavos, 1873-Cn P. Culiacan Mint. NGC Unc Details--Cleaned. Finest of just two coins graded at NGC. Other example is VF-35. Missing in the Banco de Mexico Collection. Sharp strike and exceptional condition for this coin. Mintage of only 4,992. From the Kirk Menczer Collection of Republican Decimal Minors." Shown is an 1873CN P five centavos, of a type struck 1871-76 and 1886-97. This issue from Culiacan is a rare date.
