This specimen was lot 30188 in Heritage sale 3042 (Long Beach, September 2015), where it sold for $5,170. The catalog description^[1] noted, "Republic gold 20 Pesos 1873 CH-M MS63 NGC, Chihuahua mint. A stunning Mint State selection with vibrant fields that exhibit some reflectivity and fewer than typical marks for the grade. Other than a small rim bruise which is only noticeable from the reverse, this choice specimen is absolutely pleasing. Boasting a small mintage of just 950 pieces for the date, this offering is currently tied for the finest-known certified example in this top grade, making it highly desirable among collectors." Despite a steady production of twenty pesos for 1872-77, 1882-95, Chihuahua remains a scarce mint for this denomination.
