This specimen was lot 3793 in Stephen Album sale 38 (Santa Rosa, CA, September 2020), where it sold for $65.45. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO: Republic, AR 5 centavos, 1873-CH, assayer M, crude date, a bit weakly struck, key date/assayer, medal alignment, Fine to VF, ex Coin Galleries 2/2005 Auction, Lot 462." Shown is an 1873CH M five centavos, of a type struck 1871-74 and 1886-95. This issue from Chihuahua is a rare date. Other mints include Alamos, Hermosillo, Durango, Zacatecas, Culiacan, Guanajuato, Mexico City, Guadalajara, Oaxaca and Potosi.

Recorded mintage: unknown but the key date.

Specification: 1.35 g, 0.903 fine silver, 14 mm diameter, .039 troy oz ASW.
