Stack's Bowers 2019 Collector's Choice sale, lot 72508

This specimen was lot 72508 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Santa Ana, CA, October 2019), where it sold for $144. The catalog description^[1] noted, "MEXICO. 8 Reales, 1873/1-Ga IC. Guadalajara Mint. PCGS Genuine--Chopmark, EF Details Gold Shield. A wholesome piece, exhibiting some moderate circulation though a good deal of vibrant toning and the noted chopmark on the cap. From the Sonoran Sunset Collection." This overdate is not listed in the SCWC. The regular date is slightly scarce but not rare.
