This specimen was lot 31337 in Heritage sale 3035 (Long Beach, September 2014), where it sold for $3,055. The catalog description[1] noted, "Republic gold 20 Pesos 1875 Go-S AU58 NGC, Guanajuato mint. About Uncirculated and attractive, with the handling marks as expected for this designation and some luster remaining in the fields. A well above average specimen of this much scarcer date, missing in the Gerber, Norweb and Eliasberg collections. From The Valle de la Rana Collection." This type was struck at Guanajuato 1870-1900 and is an available mint.

Recorded mintage: unknown but not rare per the SCWC.

Specification: 33.84 g, 0.875 fine gold, .952 troy oz AGW.
