This specimen was lot 1333 in Stack's "Vermuele, Ward & Mexico Maxico" sale (New York, January 2010), where it sold for $402.50. The catalog description[1] noted,

"MEXICO. Republic. Escudo, 1859/7 Ga JG. Guadalajara. Hand inscribing law book with quill and Liberty Cap. Rv. Bold eagle facing r. with snake in beak. An attractive coin that retains a fair amount of reflectivity but the strike is quite blunt at the peripheral lettering in areas, other portions sharp. Pleasing surfaces and orange-gold in color. Scarce, but not rare as a date. About Uncirculated."

The Guadalajara mint struck this type 1825-60; the SCWC prices this date only 25% higher than a common Mexico City issue. No normal date is listed.
