from the Stack's Bowers 2017 ANA sale, lot 22806

This specimen was lot 22806 in Stack's Bowers ANA Auction (Denver, CO, August 2017), where it sold for $352.50. The catalog description^[1] noted, "MEXICO. 8 Reales, 1859-DoCP. PCGS MS-63 Secure Holder. An exceptionally well centered and struck up example with virtually mark free surfaces and attractive toning." The Durango mint struck eight reales 1824-95 and this date is listed as fairly common.
