This specimen was lot 42599 in Stack's Bowers Winter sale (Baltimore, November 2015), where it sold for $352.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. 8 Reales, 1858-DoCP. NGC MS-63. Blazing luster. No major marks to speak of, quite nice for the assigned grade." The SCWC also notes an 1858/7 overdate. It is the first fairly common date issued after several rare dates (1855-57) during the War of the Reform.

Recorded mintage: unknown but fairly common.

Specification: 27.07 g, 0.903 fine silver, .786 troy oz ASW.
