The catalog description^[1] noted, "MEXICO. Octet of Reales (8 Pieces), 1838-62. Guadalajara Mint. Grade Range: GOOD to VERY FINE. 1) 1838/7-Ga JG. 2) 1841-Ga MC. 3) 1845-Ga JG. 4) 1847-Ga JG. 5) 1853-Ga JG. 6) 1857-Ga JG. 7) 1858/7-Ga JG. 8) 1862-Ga JG. SOLD AS IS/NO RETURNS. From the Kirk Menczer Collection of Republican Reales Minors." Of the fourteen mints of the Republic of Mexico, only Oaxaca and Real de Catorce did not strike this type. One reales were struck at Guadalajara 1826-62 with assayer JG recorded for 1836-63. No regular date is listed for 1858.
