This specimen was lot 72261 in Stack's Bowers June 2026 World Premier Collectors Choice Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, June 2026), where it sold for $536.80. The catalog description^[1] noted, "MEXICO. 1/2 Real, 1858-Zs MO. Zacatecas Mint. NGC MS-64. Struck on a broad flan. Only example graded by NGC. From the Kirk Menczer Collection of Republican Reales Minors." Of the fourteen mints of the Republic of Mexico, only Oaxaca and Real de Catorce did not strike this type. Zacatecas half reales are known for 1826-63 and 1869 and this is a common date. Assayer MO (Manuel Ochoa) served 1857-60.
