The first specimen was lot 1065 in Stack's Coin Galleries sale (New York, October 2010), where it sold for $431.25. The catalog description^[1] noted,

"MEXICO. Republic. 8 Reales, 1859 Mo FH. Mexico City. Cap and Rays. Rv. Resplandor. Brilliant with ample lustre to please the eye and toned at the rims with rich russet-gold on the obverse and reverse. Boldly struck on the eagle’s wings save for the left edge. Great eye appeal for this issue. Choice Brilliant Uncirculated."

The second specimen was lot 6402 in Ponterio sale 155 (Baltimore, November 2010), where it sold for $195.50. The catalog description^[2] noted, "MEXICO. Mexico City. 8 Reales, 1859-FH. Sharply struck, prooflike. CHOICE BRILLIANT UNCIRCULATED." While this date is listed as common, there is a scarce overdate, 1859/8.
