This eight reales is one of a series struck 1825-97 at the Zacatecas mint. This date is common. Assayer OM is recorded for 1831-55. The first specimen was lot 6463 in Ponterio sale 155 (Baltimore, November 2010), where it sold for $63.25. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. Zacatecas. 8 Reales, 1843-OM. Planchet flaw on reverse. Lightly toned UNCIRCULATED."

Specification: 27.07 g, 0.903 fine silver, .786 troy oz ASW.
