This specimen was lot 71232 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Santa Ana, CA, May 2018), where it sold for $480. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. Escudo, 1843-MoMM. NGC MS-61. Single finest certified at NGC, none at PCGS. Weakly struck, but brilliant with soft satin luster." The Mexico City mint is a more available mint for one escudos but many dates remain rare, including this one.

Specification: 3.38 g, 0.875 fine gold, .095 troy oz AGW.
