This specimen was lot 73171 in Stack's Bowers June 2026 World Premier Collectors Choice Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, June 2026), where it sold for $149. The catalog description^[1] noted, "MEXICO. 2 Reales, 1843-Zs OM. Zacatecas Mint. NGC AU Details--Cleaned. Highest graded of two examples by NGC. Next best is VF Details. From the Kirk Menczer Collection of Republican Reales Minors." Of the fourteen mints of the Republic of Mexico, only Oaxaca did not strike this type. Shown is an 1843-Z^S OM two reales, one of a type struck at the Zacatecas mint for Mexico 1825-70. Assayers OM (Manuel Ochoa and Manuel Miner) are recorded this mint for the years 1831-55.
