This specimen was lot 23312 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Philadelphia, August 2018), where it sold for $216. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. 1/2 Escudo, 1831-GaFS. Guadalajara Mint. PCGS Genuine--Repaired, AU Details Secure Holder. RARE date. Several scratches appear in the fields and there is some metal movement on the book and hand, likely made with the intent of disguising a more obvious flaw." A half escudo of the Guadalajara mint, which struck this denomination 1825-61.
