The Mexico City mint struck half escudos 1825-69 and is one of the abundant mints for that denomination; most dates are common. The second specimen was lot 50227 in Ponterio sale 168 (Philadelphia, August 2012), where it sold for $270.25. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. Mexico City. 1/2 Escudo, 1831/0-MoJM. NGC AU-58."

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 1.69 g, 0.875 fine gold, .047 troy oz AGW.
