This specimen was lot 39278 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2025), where it sold for $720. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. Real, 1831-Mo JM. Mexico City Mint. PCGS MS-63." The Mexico City mint struck one reales 1825-33, 1850-63. Assayer JM is recorded for 1823-32. The issues of Mexico City, along with Zacatecas and Guanajuato, are generally common. The SCWC lists this as a rare date in the series, the key after the 1852 and 1856.
