This specimen was lot 31668 in Heritage sale 3029 (New York, January 2014), where it sold for $235. The catalog description[1] noted, "Republic Real 1830 Mo-JM, MS64 NGC. Deeply toned and original with bold features." This specimen was struck at the Mexico City mint in 1830. This mint has operated since 1535, with one reals known for 1825-63. Assayer JM is recorded for 1823-32. The issues of Mexico City, along with Zacatecas and Guanajuato, are generally common.
