This specimen is from a type struck 1829-37 and is fairly available. It superseded a shortlived type that weighed 7 g (KM 332). This issue was accompanied by copper cuartillas; both were issued in an attempt to drive out the abusive minting of state and municipal coppers.
Specification: copper, 3.5 g, 21 mm diameter.
Recorded mintage: unknown.
Catalog reference: KM-333.
