The type was struck at San Luis Potosí 1831 and 1842-63, with assayer PS listed for 1842-43. These specimens were lot 8161 and 8162 in Ponterio sale 159 (Baltimore, March 2011), where they sold for $575 and $1,092.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. Potosi. 1/2 Real, 1842/41-PiPS/JS. Toned. NGC MS-62" for the first and "MEXICO. Potosi. 1/2 Real, 1842-PiPS. NGC MS-65" for the second. This date is listed as scarce.
