This specimen was lot 71130 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, October 2025), where it sold for $660. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. 5 Centavos, 1880-Go S. Guanajuato Mint. NGC MS-66. Finest of only two examples graded by NGC. From the Kirk Menczer Collection of Republican Decimal Minors." The Guanajuato mint struck silver five centavos 1869-81, 1886-97. Most of the later dates are common, even in Uncirculated, but this one is scarce.

Recorded mintage: 55,000.

Specification: 1.35 g, 0.903 fine silver, 14 mm diameter, reeded edge.
