The first specimen was lot 34288 in Ponterio sale 177 (Chicago, August 2013), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. Guadalajara. Escudo, 1848/7-GaJG. PCGS AU-58." The Guadalajara mint struck this type 1825-60; the SCWC prices this date only 25% higher than a common Mexico City issue.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 3.38 g, 0.875 fine gold, .095 troy oz AGW.
