This specimen was lot 920 in Künker sale 293 (Osnabrück, Germany, July 2017), where it sold for €1,200 (about US$1,617 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, <blockquote>"''HOHENLOHE, HOHENLOHE-KIRCHBERG, GRAFSCHAFT, SEIT 1764 FÜRSTENTUM, Christian Friedrich Karl, 1767-1806. 1/2 Konv.-Taler 1781, Schwabach. Kabinettstück. Prachtvolle Patina, fast Stempelglanz.'' ([[Germany]], principality of Hohenlohe-Kirchberg, Christian Frederick Charles, 1767-1806, half convention thaler of 1781, Schwabach mint. Cabinet piece, gorgeous patina, about uncirculated.)"</blockquote> A few thalers and half thalers represent the entire eighteenth century coinage of this tiny state, which was promoted from county to principality in 1764 and mediatized in 1806.
