Strasbourg 2 kreuzer rev 600.jpg

This specimen is a billon 2 kreuzer from the city of Strasbourg. It is not dated but is believed to have been issued in the late 1500's or early 1600's. At the time, the town was a free city in the Holy Roman Empire; it is now part of France.

Catalog reference: unlisted in the SCWC but believed to be common. The SCWC is very incomplete in listing the minor coinage of the German states.
