This specimen was lot 10361 in Ponterio sale 169 (Baltimore, November 2012), where it sold for $352. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Strassburg. 1/3 Taler, 1603. NGC AU-50. Only a touch of rub. Well struck." This type was issued by the bishop 1602-08 and undated. The city of Strasbourg, strongly Protestant, issued its own coins but no third thalers. Strasbourg was annexed to France in 1681.
