This specimen was lot 1644 in Künker Auction 425 (Osnabrück, July 2025), where it sold for €900 (about US$1,275 including buyers' fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"EUROPÄISCHE MÜNZEN UND MEDAILLEN · FRANKREICH/ELSASS, MURBACH UND LÜDERS, ABTEI Johann Rudolf Stör von Störenberg, 1542-1570. Taler 1559, St. Amarin, mit Titel Karls V. Äußerst seltener Jahrgang. Leichte Korrosionsspuren im Randbereich, kl. Schrötlingsriß, vorzüglich. (France, Alsace, abbey of Murbach and Luders, John Rudolf of Storenburg, 1542-70, thaler of 1559, St. Amarin mint, struck in the name of Charles V. Extremely rare date, light corrosion spots, planchet crack, extremely fine.)"

This type is listed as having been struck nearly every year 1544-62 yet is rare. Another thaler (KM MB6/Dav-9588) was struck until 1564 in the name of Ferdinand I. Double thalers also exist. The region is now firmly part of France.
