This specimen was lot 73247 in Stack's Bowers June 2026 World Premier Collectors Choice Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, June 2026), where it sold for $536.80. The catalog description^[1] noted, "MEXICO. 4 Reales, 1867/57-Go YF. Guanajuato Mint. NGC AU-58. Tied with one other for highest graded by NGC. From the Kirk Menczer Collection of Republican Reales Minors." Of the fourteen mints of the Republic of Mexico, only Estado de Mexico did not strike this type. The Guanajuato mint struck four reales 1835-63 and 1867-70. Assayer YF (Yldefonso Flores) is recorded for 1862-68. No regular date is known for this year. This type, legal tender in the pre Civil War United States for a half dollar, is common in low grade and Guanajuato is the commonest mint altho not all the dates are common.
