This specimen was lot 11193 in Ponterio sale 169 (Baltimore, November 2012), where it sold for $2,185. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. 8 Reales, 1867-ADL. NGC AU Details--Excessive Surface Hairlines." The Alamos mint produced eight reales 1864-95 and most early dates are rare, including this one. Assayer DL is listed for 1866-71.
