The Culiacan mint struck half escudos 1848 and 1853-70 in sufficient numbers to be considered a common mint. This specimen shows the "Sonoran eagle" distinctive to Culiacan and Hermosillo. The 1867 is the last readily available date for Culiacan; the 1870 is very scarce.
