This specimen was lot 72377 in Stack's Bowers June 2026 World Premier Collectors Choice Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, June 2026), where it sold for $414.80. The catalog description^[1] noted, "MEXICO. Real, 1867-Go YF. Guanajuato Mint. NGC MS-64. Tied for second finest graded by NGC. One of only two Real coins minted in 1867. From the Kirk Menczer Collection of Republican Reales Minors." Of the fourteen mints of the Republic of Mexico, only Alamos, Oaxaca and Real de Catorce did not strike this type. The Guanajuato mint struck one reales 1826-62 and 1867-68. Assayer YF (Yldefonso Flores) is recorded for 1862-68. This type, legal tender in the pre Civil War United States for a "bit", is common in low grade and Guanajuato is the commonest mint altho not all the dates are common. There are no common dates in uncirculated.
