The first specimen was lot 21581 in Heritage sale 3010 (Boston, August 2010), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "Republic gold 8 Escudos 1867Mo-CH, AU58 NGC, highly lustrous and attractive, a perfect type example for the hand on book series. From the Don Benito Collection of Hispanic Gold."

Specification: 27.07 g, 0.875 fine gold, .760 troy oz AGW.
