The type was struck at Culiacan 1846-69, with assayer PV listed for 1860-61. This specimen was lot 8118 in Ponterio sale 159 (Baltimore, March 2011), where it sold for $316.25. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. Culiacan. 1/2 Real, 1861-CPV. Error 1 for 1/2. Variety UL in KM. Dark toned. NGC MS-65." The error noted is in the denominator of the fraction; it shows 1/1 insted of 1/2. Similar mistakes are recorded for 1858, 1863 and 1869. Culiacan as a whole is a less common mint tho not rare.
