This specimen was part of lot 72168 in Stack's Bowers June 2026 World Premier Collectors Choice Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, June 2026), where it sold for $390.40. The catalog description^[1] noted, "MEXICO. Group of 1/2 Reales (10 Pieces), 1827-31. Guanajuato Mint. Grade Range: FINE to VERY GOOD. SOLD AS IS/NO RETURNS. From the Kirk Menczer Collection of Republican Reales Minors." It was struck at the Guanajuato mint in 1829, one of a type struck there 1826-62 and 1867-68. Assayer MJ is listed for 1826-33. This variety, along with an 1829/8 overdate, is common. A few are known with a reversed N in MEXICANA.
