Morton & Eden sale 104, lot 344

This specimen was lot 344 in Morton & Eden sale 104 (London, November 2019), where it sold for £480 (about US$744 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "Republic, 2 reales, Guadalajara mint, 1829 FS, minor rim flaw, good fine to very fine, very rare." The Guadalajara mint produced two reales 1825-62, with many dates fairly common. This one is rare. This specimen was offered again as lot 73040 in Stack's Bowers June 2026 World Premier Collectors Choice Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, June 2026), where it sold for $1,464.

Recorded mintage: unknown but a rare date, unpriced in the SCWC.

Specification: 6.77 g, 0.903 fine silver, 0.196 troy oz ASW.
