This specimen was lot 22297 in Ponterio sale 169 (Baltimore, November 2012), where it sold for $347. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. 8 Reales, 1829-GoMJ. PCGS AU-58 Secure Holder. Lustrous." The Guanajuato mint operated 1812-1900 and struck this type 1825-97. This is the first common date. Assayer MJ operated 1826-33.
